Tools for Research
Academic Search Complete, EBSCO Host, and Gale Databases are three separate companies that each search a variety of academic journals, popular magazines, news articles and books. All three are similar, but each with access to a different variety of journals, magazines or eBooks. Highly recommended for school or college students needing authoritative sources for research. Also great if you are just looking for some solid, up-to-date information on a topic. Access any of these databases by logging in to the library's catalog. Select TexShare Databases and find the database. Need more help? See Accessing Online Resources.

The Texshare Databases are a group of resources shared by the majority of public and academic libraries in Texas. By pooling our resources, the Brownwood Library is able to offer you a much wider variety of resources than we could otherwise afford. We have highlighted on this page the resources we think would be most valuable to our community, but there are a number of academic and scholarly resources that might prove very valuable in your research, including things like 20th Century Poetry, Opposing Viewpoints, SciTech Collection, Bibliography of Native North Americans, etc. Be sure to check out the TexShare databases for more research options! Access the TexShare Databases by logging in to the library's catalog. Need more help? See Accessing Online Resources.
